I upgraded my Netware 5.1 server with SP6 to accomodate an
update to my ADP software. The ADP update will not work; it is based on Centura's SQLbase and ADP is saying SQLBase
and the Pervasive SQL on the 5.1 server are incompatible. I did not upgrade Btrieve from 7.51. Can I uninstall Pervasive from newconfig without damaging any part of the
Netware configuration? I can't seem to find anything on
Novell's or Pervasive's web sites.

You can't uninstall pervasive (Btrieve). it's integral to the OS. If you do happen to delete the files, your server will be in rough shape when you try to do just about anything related to installing and/or configuring it.

Other databases coexist with Btrieve, not sure why the one you mention would have a problem. Could you elaborate on what is going on? It might just be a config issue.

I basically think it is ADP technical support not knowing how to support Netware. I just wanted to cover all my bases before I call them back. When I go into the ADP upgrade installation it starts the Windows Installer and then an error pops up that the ADP database could not be opened. I am logged into a Windows workstation as administrator with the ADP PC software installed on it. It must be some kind of rights issue on the server; I don't know if the administrator login on the PC has to be the same as the administrator login on the server. ADP indicates the database must be up before I start the upgrade; I may try it one more time before I call them back. Thanks for the info.
