NetShield 2000 slows network HTTP access

We run NetShield 2000 on our Windows 2000 domain server. Occassionally, HTTP access speed slows to a crawl. If I disable NetShield the HTTP access immediately speeds back up to normal. What causes this? More importantly, how do I stop it from happening? Thank you.

Make sure that you haven't set the On-Access scanning to scan for "ALL FILES". Move to Default Files and all should be OK.
