Netscreen 5XP traffic analysis

Hey yall,

I am looking at a network which has a 5XP firewall. I am trying to see if i can get any meaningful traffic reports off it.

Now if i go to logs, then traffic all i get is a report for data mid last year - for one day.

Is there any way i can make it log data 24*7 and how can i then analyse this data.

First off what type of traffic are you trying to monitor?

If you have some policies in place already that you wanted to monitor the traffic on . You can enable logging on the policy which can be enable once you create or edit a policy. see link for more details

I am trying to find out how much Internet traffic, preferably via port number (so we can tell FTP, HTTP, POP etc)

So what i guess you want is something more detail then the logging. You should try eIQ .theres a free demo software you can download.
