If someone knows this product and can help, I would be most appreciative. My company had an old netscreen-10 that was decomissioned when we went with another firewall solution. Now they want me to revive the device, which is not under warrenty and they have managed to lose the password.

software version 2.2

I heard there was a ScreenOS that could force a reset of the password. version 2.6.1? I don't even care about upgrading it right now, I just want to get it back to factory defaults.

Please help!

Have you try the recovery process using the device serial number for username and password? Watch out this process will erase the current configuration. Or you can use the hardware reset button by just pressing and holding it until the lights turn red then turns back to flashing green.

I have but neither work. Someone (previous to me working here) has turned that feature off. The hardware reset does not work. If I am doing it wrong, I need to know when to use the hardware reset. I don't think the hardware reset is compatible with our netscreen. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of 2.6.1 or higher do you?

I'm sorry to say i don't have a copy of ScreenOS 2.6.1 for you. I don't think you have many option to recovery the device. Plus on top of that Netscreen -10's are not support and the last major ScreenOS release was 3.0

If anyone has this they can give me, I would be forever greatfull.
