Netscape forms I/O problem, please assist,

Hi all,

I am having a rather small and irritating problem with netscape 4.08 I am writing a program that MUST work in NS 4.08 (bloody pedantic lecturer) and I have hit a small hitch in the program I am writing.

It appears that Netscape 4.08 cannot read or write values (using javascript) to forms on page loading, you have to execute a function to make it do so, this is not acceptable for the use I have.

This short program illustrates the problem:

Try viewing the page in NS and IE, explorer works fine, NS doesn't.
