netscape and word wrap

Could someone tell me why emails aren't wrapped when they come in to a netscape email box? I've gone in and checked the "wordwrap" box and it still doesn't help. The version used on this particular node is 4.7. I've suggested they upgrade to 7 - not knowing if this will help or not.
