anyone have one of these installed and working on an option 11? I can connect with dial tone but get garbage.

I'm trying to get a hold of a Netgear rm356 myself. I had
it installed to an Opt11 to manage an ITG Trunk system
through OTM, years ago. All I remember about it was that
I had to configure an IP/subnet address for the WAN
portion of the Netgear so that it can connect to the Opt11's
ELAN. You will also need to configure IP/subnet address
for the modem portion of the Netgear so that you can
communicate with it, through Dialup Networking from your PC.
I found the manual on the following website:

We had to use a Netgear RM356 because the customer didn't
want to connect the Opt11's ELAN to their network. If I
can get a hold of the original RM356, I can print out the
configs and post it on this forum.... but don't hold your
breath. I've been waiting a long time too.

thattekguy,

I found some old notes.

When configuring the Netgear RM356, the two main areas
to program is "Menu 3-Ethernet Setup" where you configure
the TCP/IP settings of the Netgear, and "Menu 11" where you
configure the remote node properties (incoming
login/password, and PPP IP Address, which would be
xxx.xxx.xxx.0, where xxx.xxx.xxx is the ELAN network).

Again, it's been quite a while since I worked on it, and all
I have is the note above. It would be good to see the
configs of an actual working Netgear.

Cool, thanks for the info, if I get it working I will post what I have.
