This started on Thursday when an Image server was rebuilt due to massive errors. Two databases were moved from that server and backed up on another server on same network. The server was rebuilt and then the databases were moved back. The whole server was rebuilt on Thursday and the problem started happening last thursday afernoon and still today after a few people logged onto the network. I run a medical records program on an NT network with 2k Member servers doing all the database work. After the databse was all reinstalled back on the image server, 4 computers lost their network connection. After doing some further research I noticed that two members groups that are used to logon to the system inside the administrator group of the local users and groups were replaced by SIDS. Both had identical numbers except after the last hypen. I saw these SIDS on three seperate client machines(win2k pro) I also tried to re-join the domain on a couple and no authentication. Our NT PDC is in another building and the BDC which is in this building I noticed that the net logon service is not started. I cannot start it because I get Netlogon service terminated with following error: Access Denied. If I try to re-sync from the BDC or PDC I get this error: The Security Descriptor Structure is invalid. The netlogon service is the problem but I can't get it stared again. I don't know what to do with the SIDS either. Please help. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I believe it is showing the SIDs simply because it can't find out the name of the account from the domain controller. Thus if you fix the BDCs Net Logon service problem, the SID problem will disappear.

Are there any other events on the BDC?
Have you tried rebooting it and seeing what errors it returns? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
