Recently I've got this problem with nero;

I click load and it takes about 50 seconds to load (its not taking up the processor either)

Then after its loaded it hangs for ages up to a few minutes (again not taking processor)

All other system functions are normal.

Anyone ever had this before?

I install Nero on a regular basis,,,,,,, and have had nothing like this happen.

Here is what I recommend:

> Uninstall program.
> Reboot
> Run MS Regclean
> Reboot

*** REINSTALL NERO
reboot
> ** GET THE LATEST updates from - The company that makes Nero.
RUN the updates for your program,,,,,,,,

> If it was a Nero problem, then your problem should certainly be resolved.

It it isn't, after spending 1\2 hour to do that, then you know it's hardware.

Thanks

I've tried uninstall / install, but not MS Regclean what is that? If this process does not work is it not possible that it could be an issue such as software conflicting or bad registry, virus?.

Cheers

Chris

Regclean is a MICROSOFT tool that does a *rudimentary* job of quickly checking the registry, and cleaning up "dead links" and old left over references.

Also: You can find REGCLEAN all over the Internet.
RegClean 4.1a is the last version. Make sure you get that.
Here is one spot to find it:

>> NEXT: Did you get the UPDATES for NERO ?

>> ALSO, on your other questions:
Software conflicting ? sure it could be.
Virus ? I doubt it. However, you should get the latest virus definitions, and do a COMPLETE system scan of ALL FILES....... not just program files.

>>> *** Think back, what changes have you recently made ? This includes both hardware & software changes.

In NERO ...... after it finally runs, run the CD-ROM TEST, and see what the BENCHMARK / SYSTEM tests show..... normal ?

I'll check back...........

BTW I have win2k pro.

My computer is messed up I cannot search hard drives I can't go into diskmanagement as nothing happens.

I'm going to back up some stuff and try regclean. If that doesn't work I'll fresh install with win2k adv server.

Thanks for all your help
