Hello,

My mamanger is looking better way to manage all computers and printers in AD that he or help desk folks can geographically know the location which where that's ethernet device located on the network or they can use MS access to lookup the device location in the database somewhere? I notice there is a place that in the computer's property has a location field that i think i could use it for each of device's location or building floor etc.... However, the hardest part is all computers and printers out there were not used this location field, which i don't want to manually to enter the location of each ethernet device. Too much work for me.

So we are looking for a better way. As your experiences, what is your recommendation or how should we do this?

Your help is much appreciate it...
Regards

IIRC, you need to setup sites and services, and add different site locations in order for this option to be active
The location property is not a free text box, but refers to the sites specified in Active Directory.
