Old PC is WIN98
New PC is XP
Looking for a free utlity (ie/old laplink) that will allow me to transfer files.

What are you trying to do, copy documents only? I have found the easiest way is to take the hard drive out of the old one, and connect it as a second drive in the new one and just use Windows explorer to copy files.
The next easiest, in my opinion, is to set up a peer to peer network and share the drives.

What about XP's inbuilt program.
