Help!

We just changed our entire subnet range from x.x.x.x to y.y.y.y, and rebooting one of my domain controllers running MS SQL server, it wont start up any networking componants with this error

The Workstation service terminated with the following error:
Windows cannot find the file specified

Everything else fails to start as a result - any help appreciated.

Alright, I fixed that problem - it was seeing a mirror image of itself on the network. So I pulled out the network cable, let it boot up, start all its services, then I plugged the cable back in.

However I now have other problems. Both the PDC and BDC are "online" and pingable, but neither of them recognises the PDC as being there (or contactable). Server manager on either of the DCs shows no servers or workstations at all for the domain.

Also, the MS SQL Server won't start due to a "logon failure".

Help!

Have you checked your DNS and wins entries, have they all updated to the new ip address scheme.

W2k uses DNS to locate servers.

Sorry i know you are not using W2k but the wins part still stands though.

Well, I fixed the first problem... the PDC had a similar problem as the BDC - it saw a mirror image of itself, but it still started its services. So I did the same thing - pulled the network cable and rebooted - and it was able to see itself in Server Manager (thank God - I thought I'd lost the entire domain :|).

But MS SQL Server still has the same Logon Failure. I can't seem to change it in Services either - the authentication fields are all greyed out. It's selected as "This User" and a SystemAccount user I have made specifically for services.

I need this running by Monday... any help with this last one please?

nm, fixed that too.

Thanks for all the help.
