Need to make video announcements

I need to start creating video annoucements for meetings. I would like to take clips from movies and insert at different points.

This is what I have:

Evo N610C with DVD/CDRW
Canon zr45 minidv camcorder
Mobility Radeon 7500 AGP (LW) 32 mb

I have a dazzle pci card but every time I try to save video, it's too big in size.

I would like to cut 10-30 seconds of video into annoucements.

I guess I just need some suggestions on where to begin with this project.

note: I have desktop with a pci/dazzle card. I was hoping to use what I have but might have to purchase more equipment. Thanks...
