Need to Change Autonumber with button?

I have a purchase order db with PO number as autonumber. Would like pop-up to change to new number and increment from there? Any ideas?

Can't do that with autonumber (at least not if you want the incremented value written back to the autonumber field), your best bet is to not use the autonumber at all--there are probably faq's here detailing how to create your own 'autonumber' scheme...essentially you create a table with one record, one field...before each insert you lock this table, take the number, increment the number.&nbsp;&nbsp;Be sure to start the one-record-table field's value at the max PO that exists now.<br>--Jim
