I originally posted this in the Cisco forum, but feel that this may be a better forum.

We currently have a Cisco 1720 router on a fractional t1 that the internal ethernet port failed. We are thinking that it just may be better to replace it with a new router with a VPN endpoint in it.

I'm looking for recommendations on what everyone is using, what they like / dislike about it, the ease / difficulty of setting it up, costs etc.

This is a small (25) user network, but would like to have VPN ability for up to 5 users.

Because out outside connectivity is down right now, we need to move on this right away.

Thanks for your help.

I agree with Bob. We use a PIX 515 and it is excellent. I may be mistaken, but I think the 1720 has a VPN option in one of the firmwares. Just in case you wanted to replace the one you have...

Or are you talking about replacing your T1 with VPN?

Thanks,

Matt Wray
