need pre-packaged database search engine

I need a pre-packaged search engine (hope this is the right term) for my database. The database will be on CD. The results of the search will feed into an Authorware program. I have limited experience with Access, but do have some programming experience. My company is non-profit so we can't afford the high-end applications I've seen so far. The closest thing I've seen to what I need is the Windows Help feature. Any help will be appreciated.

Winhelp won't though export to authorware. Have you looked at other alternatives like using Authorware with Verity search engine? What exactly can you afford then I can see what price range we are talking about.
