We recently put in an S8700 in our HQ location. Getting ready to branch out to the other locations. We have a 70 person location about to move. We are looking at the following 2 options. due to bundles etc. the price will be about the same for either configuration.

S8400 with G650 cabinet and reuse the digital circuit packs.

S8300 with G450 cabinet, using all new MM packs

With either configration it will be a stand alone with IP trunking between offices. Any advice or experience with these would be appreciated. I am leaning toward the G450 configuration just because it will be so much more compact. but am worried about the reliability b/c it is so new and a different kind of circuit pack.

Also will have this same delimea going forward as each location comes up for renewal...

If it was my decision,m I would go with the MM cards, G450 and S8300. The main reason is, you can evebtually make that site an LSP and join it to the main site, if you ever get good enough IP connectivty. Also, the MM packs/G450/S8300 is the current platform, and will be moving forwward... eventually, TN packs/S8400 is going to be End Of Lifed.

AVAYA has said they plan on making the S8400 able to be an LSP, but so far that is all talk, and may never happen.

We have already installed at least 10-15 G450's, and the only issue so far has been with the MP20 VoIP modules, cutting off voice mail messages part way through the message. AVAYA is working on a solution for the VoIP firmware for the MP20, they have already solved the issue for the larger MP80 VoIP module.
