I am getting a "#Error" in a field and when try and change the field it says "the microsoft jet database engine has stopped the process because you and another user are trying to change the same data at the same time" After clicking OK I can change the data and then I get this error "The record has been changes since you started editing it. . . " Save Changes, Copy to Clipboard, Drop Changes.

When I Click on save Changes nothing happens.

This occurs on both the form with the data and also when I open the table. Also I have tried opening the database exclusively and it makes no difference.

Also I have access 97.

I think this occured because I opened two forms at the same time using the same record.

Any help is appreciated.

Chris

This is a guess, but sometimes it is an easy fix.
I would try to compile any code first. Then I would try to compact and repair the database. If that fails create a new database, and import the problem table in first. If you can open this table, then import in the rest of the forms, reports, modules, and macros. Import in a few objects at a time and compact and repair the new databasase, then import more.

I have compacted and repaired database. It did not help. Also It does not let me export or import the table I am having trouble with. This problem occurs if I go to the table. Without opening any reports or forms.

I have tried opening and closing the forms and the closing the database and reopening it.

To double check, with your problem database closed and the new empty one opened can you do an import from the old into the new db? If you can not, that sounds bad but I do not know the solution. Can you possibly do a make table query, from your old table to a new one? I am reaching.
One more thing to try. Open your database by holding down shift to bypass anything that may be in the startup options. Again unlikely. Try to open the table. If this works, try to export it.
My guess is that there is something in the compiled code that is making a connection to that table. Next step is to uncompile your code. Again I am reaching, but hopefully someone else will respond.
