I am trying to make sure that ColdFusion is the way for our agency to go.

I am the sole programming entity here, and I need to port our MS Access apps over to SQL Server, and get them on the web, and put them out in a format that handhelds can handle well.

I am leaning toward ColdFusion because I see it as easier to maintain than "pure" .asp. How does it do with mobile apps, specifically handheld PalmOS apps?

If you've done it with CF, I could use some convincing to justify the cost.

Well, I haven't done it yet, but I'd recommend looking at Ben Forta's site, who has done a few articles on WAP (I belive that he even wrote a book about it).
An easy way to go about it would be to use something like AvantGo to palm enable a web app.

Plus, with CFMX, webservices will be a snap, so your apps will be easy to interface with.

HTH,
Tim P.
