I've been charged with collecting files off each desktop and storing them for off-site disaster recovery purposes. I'm running into some problems.
1) The files are stored in SMS\inboxes\sinv.box\FileCol\XXXX where XXXX = random number (??). It appears XXXX relates to the machine the file was collected from. I need to be able to say, "This file is from this PC." Right now, I don't see a way to do that.
2) The files names are being changed. For example, I'm collecting *.id. For the most part these filenames will be user.id, but in the above mentioned folder they have a weird naming convention - tblb1n7j.id, 2weot6x4.id etc. I don't think this will be a problem, but is there a way to make it collect the file and keep its original filename.
3) I'd like to target a file collection to a specific colletion. Is there a way to collect files without having to collect files from all PCs in a site.
There being so many issues makes me think I've missed a tab/dialog box somewhere prompting me for information. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
-If it ain't broke, break it and make it better.
