my cluster failed over and I am trying to find out why. I have a huge section of the cluster log for that date but there are tons of messages I just don't really understand. What am I supposed to look for? How do I find out why the cluster failed over? suggestions?

Start with the system event log on each of the nodes. If you need clarifaction of the cluster service events you see there, you would go to the cluster log and check the entries for those specific resources.

You may want to look for an note of a specific cluster resource failing at the time the failover occured.
