Need help installing Nortons AV 2002

Have NAV 2002. Installed it back in Feb.
My system crashed about a month ago and I had to reinstall NAv. Live update and subsciption info became problems.
Uninstalled, reinstall etc..have uninstall/reinstalled 5 times now...
Have tried systemics tips/suggestion, removed selected entries from registery, tried their unistaller etc...
Now when I try to reinstall again, system hangs when told to reboot.. will not reboot..
Have rebooted in safe mode and unistalled again..
Also tried to install in safe mode as instructed but same results...

Any suggestion how to install Nortons.. at this point..
system working ok.. no error messagas or problems...

Howdy: try booting into BIOS and disable the onboard av scanner in there..

Then, dump ALL temp files and now try installing !!
