Need help in locating 1

Hi there,

I am trying to locate somewhere, anywhere that I can download a GOOD WORKING copy of smartdrv.exe. It seems that everyone I've tried has been worthless...and this caching program is invaluable when running Windows 2000 and XP installs from the i386 folder.

I'm on WinME (but it's been said it very similar to Win9x)

\Windows
\Window\Options\Install (System Restore backup)

in my archives;

[li]Win 3.1 = Disk 4[/li]
[li]WFW 3.11 = Disk 8[/li]
[li]DOS 6.2 = Disk 3[/li]
[li]DOS 6.22P = Disk 2[/li]
(P=Plus Enhanced Tools)
[/ul]

I have long since lost my DOS 4 & 5 disks, so I can't help you with either of those. But, I hope the above helps.

Do you happen to know what .cab file I can extract it from on the Millennium CD? I don't have ME installed, but have a CD here.

Sometimes the obvious doesn't come to mind like inserting the disk and using "START > SEARCH/FIND > FILES/FOLDERS".

On mine it's located in \DOS and \WIN9X.

PS - Forgot to mention, the above are directories on the CD. The SmartDrv.exe was not found in any cabinet files.

You know, you're right...I am so brain fried right now from only getting only 3 hours of sleep each of the last four nights...the OBVIOUS didn't even cross my mind!

I stuck a Win 98 CD into my CD ROM drive, and did a search...sure enough...there it was in D:\Win98
