Need help fast

I am using quarkxpress 4.0 and I cannot seem to transfer letters in my local language from Microsoft word text which I am working on. the particular letters are c, c, Ð and d.
The text is in bosnian.

How to make them appear in quark (right now they show up as c,c, D, d).

Not sure if this is your problem, but if you are in a hurry I will answer first... Are you using the "get text" feature in Quark rather than pasting in text. I have found that when cutting and pasting text from Word to Quark you lose a lot of special characters. Drawing a text box and using "get text" seems to keep these characters.

Maybe someone can give you a more educated answer soon...

thanks, i tried that but it still doesn't work.

I hope someone will come up with another idea since the ead line is coming up.

try saveing your word file as Filename.mcw and as Word 5.1.
Then do a get text on that file.
For some reason that seems to help us...

i didn't quite get it.

I tried to do as you explained but it is just giving me lines and some odd characters.

I am not sure about the .mcw part.

I'l keep playing with it.

Mislim da znam sta te muci. Problem je u tome sto su YU slova u Wordu formatirana u Unicode formatu, a Quark nema podrsku za to. Moras da u Wordu, posto odkucas tekst, konvertujes (pomocu jednog makroa) slova iz Unicode u YUASCII pa tek onda prebacis u Quark. Fontove koje mozes za to da koristis (u Quarku) su sva ona koja pocinju sa YU (YU Times, YU Wag, ....) koja su inace krs i lom, ali... Quark je stvarno totalno debilan kad su nasi prostori u pitanju, tako da ti toplo preporucujem da predjes na Adobe In-Design, ali ako bas volis da se patis... Mogu ti poslati i taj makro za Word i gomilu YU fontova.

hvala, ti ali sam uspio rjesiti problem, ali sam prije toga presao u illustrator. Nabavio sam i nekih easteuropean fontova tako da je sve ok.
