The key question is the version you are running.

Up tp NW 7.2.x you just start the Admin GUI with "nwadmin",
since NW 7.3.x you must connect to you NMC (NetWorker Management Console) server and connect via you webbrowser via
(the default port)

Recoveries are either started via the GUI (nwrecover) or via the command line (recover).

As a customer i assume you have a Powerlink account. You will find all docs here. Go to powerlink.emc.com and browse through the menu under the "Resources" bar.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.
As I don't know how to check the version or anything in Legato (as it is completly new for me and there is nobodies who know anything about legato around me... and I asked for a training but still waiting...). I have check on internet and find this command nsradmin.
I have run this command to see the version (as I don't know how to see it)
# /opt/networker/bin/nsradmin -c
type: NSR
Version : Legato Storage Manager 5.5.lsm.Build.55 Data Backup Utility

Question: what are the unix command to check the backups configuration, if a backup is done well, what is backuped etc...

I have see also with this command that on the type NSR notification, the email is incorrect I should change it as it is the email of the person who leaves with no docs !

Please I really some quick help or good documentation (with unix commands )...

Thank you in advance.

Cheers
Al

I forgot to ask how to change the mail with the command nsradmin and I choose edit or there is some config files somewhere that I can edit and modify ?

LSM actually points to a specific version which has been OEMed by Oracle and AFAIK, still delivered with the Oracle CD. However, version 5.5 is at least 8 years old.

To verify the backups, you may use NetWorker's database query commands (nsrinfo and mmminfo). All docs are only available via EMC Powerlink - you need an account to access them.

Unfortunately, you will find the Admin Guide on a lot of web sites, but rarely find the command line reference.

One location would be: ftp://ftp.legato.com/pub/infodev/publications/cmndref/

Another possibility is via SUN:

Forgot the mail issue:

NW does this via the "noticifcations". Simply change the action field to whatever is appropriate for you.

Hi

Thank you for your replies. I will check on those docs and thank you for the links very useful !
I will check this and see ...
Thanks for the notification, so i will modify the email adress via nsradmin command directly.
I ll come back to give an update.

Cheers.
Al.
