I desparately need help in finding the correct file extension for yahoo mail. I'm trying to download my email onto a floppy disk but unable to find the correct extension to locate it on my hard drive.
do you know whre you downloaded it too? usually by default it goes to My Documents, but this could have gotten changed overtime...never tried downloading email from yahoo so im not even sure what file name it would use or extension either
Thanks of responding. I don't have Yahoo Plus so the information provided does'nt apply to the basic version. Basic Yahoo accounts are not set up to goto My Documents by default. I believe because its a web based account. The reason I used Yahoo was because the files are actually stored on the Yahoo server and if Windows 98 were to crash I could retrieve them after a reinstall.
I have about two hundred email messages containing serial numbers of software I purchased online. I could forward a couple of hundred email messages to Outlook Express, then move them to My Docs to download but thats not practical. Unfortunately neither of the suggestions offered will work in this application.
Thanks again. I read the information you provided again and decided to open a new account with a different provider. I going to forward the important emails one by one to the new account. The information you gave was helpful.
Doesn't OE have support for Yahoo mail? It does for Hotmail. All you need to do is to make an email folder on your local drive and "move" the messages into it. It is still a download, but it saves the step of forwarding them.
Thank you all for contributing to this tread. Although I was'nt able to resolve the specific issue, I was able to find an alternative from the information provided.
