I am building a web appliaction for the first time. I am using the built in User Auth. to give users access. I want to make this available outside the office.

My question how secure is this?

Once they are logged in they will be accessing very sensitive database info. I plan of getting a SSL Cert and installing on my server before opening up the application to the outside.

Any other advise will be great.

Thanks

Nick

It should be secure if implemented properly. All of the authentication takes place on your server (php, asp, whatever), and pages should only be served up if authenticated.

Good evening:

I'm trying to build an e-commerce website to sell clothing on. I'm using Dreamweaver MX to build the site. I'm having trouble with the functionality of the site. How do I set up my product catalog on the site so that customers can click on the item they want, that item comes up with the details, price and an "add to cart" or "buy" button. How can this be done?

nsanto17, what language are you using? Coldfusion, asp, php, etc? What dB? There are plenty o tuts online in every programming language to get the info you need.

Nfiniti99, you should start your own topic instead of hijacking someone else's thread. You question is really for a programming language forum like coldfusion, asp, php, etc. You can't achieve this strictly in HTML.
