I have Seven bad Cisco Catalyst 3548 XL switch in need of hardware repair. Does anyone know a company that repairs/refurbs switches.

thank You
Jason

Wow 7?!?

What happened?

Anyways Cisco is the company to contact. They might repair them for free depending on when you bought them.

Yikes! 7.. Did they all go bad at once?(lightning or power surge) How long do they work before they fail? How do they fail? Quit passing traffic, but still manageable? Firmware the latest version?(assuming these will take new code) Do Cisco switches have a log that keeps any useful information?

You might be able to use Cisco TAC. Before you log a case, while the switches are up and manageable, but preferably showing the fault, hyperterminal in and from privilege mode type in 'sh tech', set up a text capture before hitting the return key, send that off to Cisco in the TAC and see what they come up with.

I found out Cisco 3500 have a life time warrenty.

You might find that unless you go back to the dealer who supplied your kit, Cisco will be NFI.

It's even worse if they are found to be 'grey' stock.

Also we had similar issues (locking up) on a 3548, until it went on to a UPS, worth a try?
