Sudenly lost my ability to print from the USB port.

In Systems/Device manager the two NEC PCI to USB open host controller entries have yellow exclamation marks.

Tried deleting them and reinstalling them but to no effect. Simmmilarly updating the driver had no effect (Said no better matches found).

I've tried every perm of removing/adding devices! (i.e searching, manually adding etc.

Any ideas what I can do?

Many thanks

Further to previous post under system / device / drivers was an error message saying "this device cannot be started (code 10)".

Having done a google search and tried all the tips I found on various bulletin boards to no avail I was about to give up and undertake a full reinstall, which is a mammoth task on this workstation.

I then tried one last attempt as follows:-

1 Turn off system restore.

2 boot into safe mode.

3 remove the NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller by going to the driver tab and uninstalling the driver.

4 Reboot into safe mode.

5 Bingo - this time the devices and drivers were properly installed.

Printing now working.

Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.
