The "NEC Conference Max" is actually a Clear one conference max with an NEC sticker. Following is the procedure:
Re-synchronizing a Max Wireless to its base
Introduction
This document walks through step-by-step the procedure for linking up a Max wireless pod to a base unit. This is done at the factory so there should be little need for this to be done in the field. It is intended for ClearOne personnel only (in-house use).
Description
This note will tell how to synchronize a ClearOne Max Wireless telephone pod to a base unit. The Max pod and its base need to synchronize on the sequences they use for the spread spectrum operation. If they are not using the same sequences, the phone pod will not work. In order for the base and the pod to know the sequences the other is using, they must register with each other. This procedure is outlined below. The primary indication that the units may need re-synchronization is that the antenna icon on the pod will continue to blink after one minute of operation. It should be used only after other factors are confirmed such as:
Is there power to the base?
Is the base within range?
Do the serial numbers of the pod and base match?
Has the customer waited at least a minute for the pod to synch?
Procedure
1. Disconnect the battery in the pod (remove the charger if plugged in, as well) and also disconnect the base unit from power.
2. Plug the base in holding down the “page” button until the “in use” LED begins flashing. This will take approximately 5 seconds. The LED will flash for approximately 30 seconds and the next steps must be completed before it stops flashing.
3. Power up the pod holding down the “Clear” button. The LCD will show “-------------------------“ across the screen.
4. Press 9 on the pod. The LCD will say, “register”.
5. When the two have synchronized properly, the LCD will say “reg o” then go to its normal state. If it fails, it will state “reg fail”.
Result codes
Reg o = Register OK
Reg fail = Register Fail
Note: This registration procedure can only be done up to 4 times on a pod or base. There are only 4 memory locations in each and when these are filled, the units will no longer re-synch.
"However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results." Sir Winston Churchill
