I have a customer who has an NEC 48/192. Small system 8 users. Old MIFM U10 card went bad so I sourced a replacement (MIFM U10 with KMM1.0) I replaced the card and the scroll no longer works. I have looked through all the programming and features manuals and looked through all the programming to no avail. It looks just as it did before it just doesnt work. I rebooted the phone system to not avail. The old card just went bad, not a big deal so it was replaced and had worked before. I get caller ID showing up on the phones as they come in, which didnt work before card replacement, but it wont store and wont let me scroll through them. The customer wants the scroll button to be able to call back the person they find in the scroll list. This feature did work before the replacement. Any suggestions on where to check in programming. I have been through everything I can think of. I can verify the scroll is on the phone using the feature and pressing the key, it displays scroll, but after answering several calls there is nothing stored in any of the phones' scrolls.

Is it possible this system defaulted? (those CPU batteries have to replace periodically)
Did you confirm the MIF card is assigned along with slot number?
The replacement MIF card might defective.

That is an old system. It used to be my bread and butter.
If you still have the old card look at the chips on it. Caller ID Scrolling was controlled by the KMM Chip. You will need to take it off of the old card and put it on the new.

The KMM 1.0 was bad. I had to buy a new card with a new kmm 1.0. I even swapped the kmm 1.0 around to make sure and verify. Thank you for the help it just took forever to get a solution. I am having a new issue now with the system. I can now hit scroll and a line and get the outcalling to start but it is now adding an additional 1. For example it should dial 13143211111 instead it dials 113143211111. Not sure where this is at.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I fell the next day and slipped a disc. Took me a bit to recover and the customer only wants me to touch the phones. Thank you again for the help.

I cant seem to locate anywhere to fix this added 1 that is automatically dials. We have dug through everything I can think of in the feature and spec book and the programming manual for the system. I have gone through each point in the programming and didn't see it either. I am sure I overlooked it but after days of searching I am at a loss. It did not do this previously, I am sure this is something that got bumped when trying to figure out why it wasn't working with multiple card switches previously. Defective hardware really throws off a troubleshoot. If anyone has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. It is an nec 48/192, I have serviced it for years and years the problem is everything is computer based anymore and this one customer is still on this system and these older systems I rarely had to mess with once I put them in and got them going. The newer systems are the ones I have to constantly respond to and so you forget things when they aren't what you work on constantly.a

I will check those today, I cant recall if I looked at them but as I said I have been through it all. It is perplexing. Thank you so much.
