Hey Eveyone,

Does anyone know how to eliminate a password for a Printer Agent?

I cannot find much info on the Novell support site.

This agent was configured by a previous employee who is no longer with the company. It is his password that I must supply.

When this agent loads it promps for a password, where the other agents do not. The only difference that I can see between the agents is that there is a User=<with the user's fully dist. name> line under the information/Port Handler Status for that agent in the Manager screen. If I remove that entry, the agent loads but the status is "Not Bound"

Any ideas?

Thanks
Lou

To be honest, I never knew you could place a password on an NDPS printer. Not exactly a commonly used feature, security on printers is normaly pretty low.

You can try just removing the printer object then recreating it using the same name. Users should reattach to the printer agent as long as IP and name stay the same.

If you try this, be sure to run a haert beat after the delete, may be good to run a janitor process to ensure any obits get processed before you create the print oject again. This will ensure you do not get any collision objects (something that can happen is you delete and create an object of the same name and type before NDS has a chance to delete the old object from all replicas).
