I've been searching and browsing thru this forum for an hour now but can't seem to get an answer that i can understand.

On our Meridian Opt 11c i've been asked to find out if a perticular phone can dial long distance or not. If i print the TN for the phone i see that its NCOS is 30 we also have phones that use an NCOS of 10,20 and 50. I know that the 50 level is what most of our staff use and can dial long distance. The company that installed the system way before i started here never documented anything about that settings.

I have been trying to follow what the other posts say about the ncos levels but they all talk about them matching the FRL number and mine do not. If i do a load 90 any area code i check is in RLI 5. Then in load 86 i get the following

>ld 86
ESN000

It shows the FRL of 5. All the posts i've found says that this matches my NCOS levels. Is there another load that i'm missing that matches the NCOS to FRL. I just don't seem to understand this. Any help would be appreciated. All we want to know is if a phone with NCOS 30 can dial long distance.

Thanks

you need to look at network range's on ld 87
Code:
>ld 87

CUST 0
FEAT nctl
NRNG

then for your switch you'll need to look at ncos 10, 20 etc.. they each translate to a frl 0 to 7

Ok I did that and it looks like NCOS 10 is 1 NCOS 20 is 2 NCOS 30 is 3 and NCOS 50 is 5.

Does this mean that only NCOS 50 has access to the FRL 5 and only 50 or higher gets access to the outside lines?

Is there a way to look more at the FRL 3?

Go to LD 81 and do a LST (this will list every TN) or CNT (this wil give you a count)

I would do a CNT first to see which one's are being used.

REQ CNT
CUST 0
ITEM NCOS

LD 87
REQ PRT
CUST 0
TYPE NCTL

you can print all of then or just do the one from LD 81 that had a CNT of 1 or more to see what the NCOS/FRL is

LD 86
REQ PRT
CUST 0
TYPE RLB
RLI just hit enter to get all RLB's

This will tell you the FRL needed to to use each ENTR to make a call

I make it simple at my site.

NCOS 0=FRL 0 Internal call only

NCOS 1=FRL 1 Can make Local calls

NCOS 2=FRL 2 Can make LD call to USA only

NCOS 5=FRL 5 Can call anywere they want.
