Hello all,

situation:
- Windows 2000 environment.
- DNS Active Directory integrated.
- No WINS Server

When I launch any DNS query, no problem. When I use nbtstat for linking an IP to a name ... I get the error "HOST NOT FOUND".

If someone knows the answer, please you're welcome.

Regards,

Go to IP properties/ Advanced / WINS
and check what option do you have checked on NetBIOS.

Enable LMHosts lookup: checked
Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP: checked

I've just been sniffing too.
I have noticed something strange, when he sends the "NS: Query..." package he gets an instant reply: "Destination Unreachable...".
There is no problem with ping'ing the server...
