I created a navigation bar in Fireworks with tabs, exported to a Dreamweaver library--the button states work except I am wondering how to show the down state when you arrive at another page--like amazon.com etc.--Thanks

Hello exblue!

I think you wrongly created NavBar in FW. Try to play with Behaviours (Window > Behaviours) and don't forget that all your buttons need Down state (including Up and Over states) and be checked "Include Nav Bar Down State" on Down state page.

Good Luck!

Hi and thanks Eugene--I should have mentioned that the down state seems to work in FW preview--Also, I have assigned each state--any idea?

The method I use is to manually change the button image for the active page to the 'down' state image. From Fireworks, this is normally the image with a '_f3' suffix. In your Dreamweaver page, simply double-click the button image and replace the 'up' state ('_f1') with this one.

You will also need to remove the javascript for the rollover effect on the button.

Hope this helps.

When setting a down state do you have to specify that state for the specific page? I am confused now--Somehow I thought the bar would do the work if it was set up correctly--and then applied to any page--For exsample, I have three different templates in my site, plus the home page--each with the same navbar--How can I apply Eugene's advice--because it seems that you have to set the down state page by page--Or am I wrong about this? Thanks
