Hi, tonight I loaded NAV 2004 Pro on a Windows 98se PC. I did all the updates thru Liveupdate. When I go to do a full system scan, the machine freezes up! I cannot get a task window using alt/ctrl/del. The mouse pointer moves but does nothing. The PC has an AMD Athlon 650MHz CPU and 128MB memory. It has Norton Firewall 2004 running - disabled it on 2nd attempt. This PC has a few possible issues with its Abit KA7 MoBo, but after 3 or 4 full system scan attempts, I can almost positively say it is not the hardware. Any ideas welcomed.

Did you try restarting, and then shutting down all programs, except Explorer and Systray, with C-A-D before doing a virus scan?

Delete the program
Install an older version - or use one of the great freeware apps available

I use NAV 2003 for Win 98. 2004 and up is written for XP. Actually, easy way is to use Grisoft.co "AVG ver7 Free".

Thanks for the thoughts. It turns out that my client had some hardware problems that led to sofware problems. The motherboard was replaced and NAV 2004 (install requirements do cover Win 98)was de-installed and re-installed. After Live Update, the virus scan worked fine! Problem resolved.
