I've been doing bits of VBscript on and off for a few years now, and I'd like to be able to consolidate some of the work I do into small applications. What would be the best place for me to start?

I assume VB is a fairly obvious place to migrate my skillset to, but tools like Visual Studio look a bit heavy for my fairly modest reqquirements.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
