Hi all,
I'm the network admin for this small biz organization of about 60 users. I have implemented NATing in Win 2000 for internet connectivity. It work pretty great. I have a 128kbps bandwidth.
The problem : Everyday....there has to be alteast 5 complaints from different users that they cant access the internet. I narrowed down this problem to the Win2k proxy which has got NAT enabled. When I go and reset the connections (disable and enable the connections) of both the adapters, it goes up again and these users can once again get connected.
If I even physically unplug the RJ45 connectors from the LAN cards of the PC that is functioning as the server it servers its purpose and resets and users get connected once again.
Its really a pain to do this all the while. I never had this problem when I had MS Proxy Server installed on Win NT 4.0 with SP6.
Now with win2000 server, which is supposed to be enhanced for networking, beats me why this problem occurs. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
