hey, thanks in advance for checking this out.
I am trying to host a website from my server where I have a static IP (registered on external DNS servers just fine)
What I expect my server to do: provide NAT to client workstations, IIS Web services, Active Directory Services to take advantage of domain level security/GPOs. A firewall is in place.
The question: assuming the domain name was newdomain.biz, what is the recommened way to setup AD and DNS on this machine? Do I need to add anything to DNS or does the AD setup do this?
Note. I do have NAT installed so it is dual-homed with 1 public and 1 private NIC. NAT works fine via RRAS configuration.
I disabled Register this connection's address in DNS) and file and print sharing, client for Microsoft Networks disabled on Public NIC plus the Binding order of the NICs are Private NIC first (because it has File and Print sharing enabled?-is what I heard is necessary)
Does this screw around with the DNS configuration cause is seems that way. I cannot access Group Policy Objects cause The network path was not found. I have not enforced the change administrator account name GPO.
Please help any assistance is appreciated.
