Ok here it is: I have an 81c that uses XLST. I am trying to figure out how to breakdown the NCOS/TGAR/XLST and see how the call flows from start to finish. For example if you sat down in front of my switch without knowing anything about it, and you seen a COS of "1-2-1" (NCOS-TGAR-XLST) programmed to a set, what steps would you go through to see what that phone is capable of doing? (I.E. Local only, long distance, etc.). Thanks in advance on this one.

prt NPA and NXX in ld 90 note the RLI they use common - also prt SPN in 90 as well, not RLI. go to 86 and prt RLI note the FRL. Also prt ESN, is TARG yes or no? if No, then it will apply when route ACOD is dialed.

NCOS - how much $$ you have

FRL - How much $$ it cost to ride

that pretty much nails it. it is as simple as that.. tgar/targ only work post acod.. if 9 is your ac1, that takes you to ld 90.. if 9 is an acod, that takes you to ld 49 nfrl.. ld 49 is seldom used..

i dial 9 1111 +7, 9 is ac 1, takes me to 90, 1111 is a npa, pointed to rlb 4, ld 86 prt rli, look at entry 0, that points to a route data block (ld 21), and assigns a frl.. (ld 86) prt nctl, to see the assignment of that frl.. most common would be, say frl 3 equals ncos 3.. so if my phone is ncos 3 or above, the call goes..

it can get deeper then that, but 90 percent of the switches i've worked on, it's just that simple.. check the faq's here for a little more detail

That will usually be a direct reference to what a user can or cannot dial using NCOS X.
I mean there is more to it (FRL data in your RDB block and ESN) but usually thats your access.
