I defaulted and reconfigured a NAM 3.0 on a MICS 6. After I built the mailboxes I went through the initial setup on a few mailboxes I discovered I could not log in to any of them unless I was at the extension itself. If I tried I'd get "invalid password." I don;t do a lot of these but I don;t seem tor recall a setting which allowed for remote mailbox logins.

Just to be sure we are starting at the same point, which feature code are you using when you log in to the v-mail, if you have a display phone, are you prompted with "LOG:" and what exactly are you keying from a "remote" extension to access a v-mail box?

From any phone enter following in order:
F983
OTHER
XXXyyyy (XXX = mailbox number, yyy = password)
OK

Also note NAM 3.0 is not compatible with MICS 6.0, you need the NAM to be at 4.1

I must have a 4.1 but the label on the NAM says R3. It does work just fine the MICS. That was what I was doing wrong, I was not pressing "other" first. And I use F981 not F983. I knew I was missing something simple.

Release of the NAM doesn't matter when it comes to the method of checking/initialization from another extension. As curly stated f983 othr ext. pswd.
