I have a copper NAM on a MICS. On the reception desk there is a 7324 with CAP. One of the CAP dss keys is the main dn of the NAM.

In the evening when the receptionist puts the business into closed status (via F982), often times she sees that DSS button lit as if it is busy and she cannot 'close' the business at that moment.

It is a 8 channel nam, so I don't see how 1 channel being busy would prevent her from 'closing' the business.

Would a reboot be in order?

Check your lines to see if they are all set for Disconnect supervision.

yes, you are correct, it could be that all 8 channels are in use, i don't have a dss busy lamp for every voicemail channel. but if all busy i suppose that would prevent f982 from working. It is unlikely, there are only 6 lines, and 20 telephones.

Perhaps lines aren't set for supervision and they are tying up the voicemail! that is a possibility too!

F943 opens up the ACCESS ADMIN for some reason. took a while to find that!

You can put all the B1 & B2 as dss/blf keys to help troubleshoot.

Would give you a status, could be always the same port or channel that is the problem.

I bet lol

If she is closing the business is it safe to say human answers during day?

I suggest monitor F943 when call volume seems high, just sit and watch the C's.

Went to the site. It is a 4 channel nam, not 8.

I saw 4 dots under ADMIN but only 1 channel would work. Checked the 2 jacks feeding the voicemail and voila, one was loose. But they should have at least had 2 channels, but now they get 4 channels.

we'll see if that works. I am hesitant to reboot, it's a bit old.

thanks for all your input.
