Can someone please explain to me why my switch is adding a 1 in front of the dialed number below?

I am dialing 9724xxxxxxx but the system is changing to 1724xxxxxxx

Really appreciate any direction on this. Thanks!

I should note that 9 in the original number is the outside line code, which you probably already understood.

check your route pattern, does it have a prefix of 1 in it? if so then this is why

Joe, thanks for the response...but no prefix

Labeled "Pfx Mrk", which I haven't yet found in any manual to describe the options. But, something interesting...seems to only be happening when I dial my cell phone number. I just added '7245551212' to my ars table, same route pattern...but no 1 added at the beginning.

so just to be clear, do you have a prefix of 1 on the other route pattern that inserts the 1

Change the Prefix Mark to '4' to stop sending the 1. Below is the link to the CM 5.2 screen reference guide. Look in the route pattern section for use of the prefix mark.

To be clear..I am sending 2 different numbers thru the same route pattern. One number gets the prefix, the other number doesn't.

What's worse? I have tried changing my cell number to use a different route pattern, but still goes thru route 4 every time.

then somehow these two number entries in ars must be programmed differently

It's not the route pattern. Somehow, my cell number is getting a 1 added, where no other number seems to get. So, in turn, the system chooses the route pattern after adding the 1 in front. I need to find out where this 1 is being added.

is your phone in off pbx station mapping? just a guess

Yes, in fact I am using EC500. Could that be affecting an outbound call, though?

Only one way to find out :) Does your problem happen on all other 724 NPA numbers?

And, adding get to that.. an EC500 call to my cell does not add the 1. I know, strange.

Well, I removed my cell number from off pbx station mapping...no change. Still inserting a leading 1.

Boy, do I feel like a noob.

Just check ars digit conversion...and there it be! I could swear I looked there before, and didn't see it.

Problem solved. Thanks for all the suggestions.
