Myriad Pro Font problem in Quark

Hello,

This may seem like a silly question, as it does to me, but I am trying to understand why the computer and Quark, which I've inherited has such a problem with the Myriad Pro font family.

I've just begun at a new layout job and have used Quark before. The person _ and designer before me _ set many style sheets using Myriad Pro and its many off shoots. With an editor keen to keep the same style and design, I am using the font family.

However, I've been struggling for days to understand why, after reintalling the Myriad Pro font families, using ATM Deluxe and activating all the Myriad Pro fonts as well as resetting all the old style sheets directing them to the new font...I'm still having problems.

When I collect my job for output in Quark, it collects all the other fonts with no problems. Before I reinstalled all Myriad Pro family, Quark was saying it couldn't find the font (which was scattered all over the computer because of haphazard saving of collected jobs by the previous person). Now that I've reinstalled the fonts, set the style sheets up again...and then collect my job for output,Quark tells me that I need to remember to copy all the Myriad Pro fonts into my "Fonts" folder.

This seems incredibly strange to me. And even stranger is that a graphic designer in our office said that Quark doesn't collect Myriad Pro. This seems strange...especially when it will collect all the other fonts without problems. I've never heard of such a thing in my life.

Is this true? Anyone else have any trouble with Quark and Myriad? Anyone know what the problem could be? And suggestions to fix it?

Many thanks in advance.

That's an unusual problem. What format is the font (TT, PS or OT)? I believe there are problems with Quark and OpenType, although I haven't heard this one before! Maybe you could also let us know what version of Quark you are using.

Myriad Pro gives us nothing but head aches when we rip our files. We ended changing the font from one of the other Myriad families that it matches.

Do not no why it causes a conflict, but when we see it in a job we raise a flag.
