my sambar can't find my cgi - what gives

Hi folks, I've slipped a brain clutch this morning -
my sambar web server cannot find any of my cgi scripts -
my cgi directory is set to /cgi-bin/, cgi-bin is a directory
under sambar50, perl is installed and I can execute the
perl scripts in a command windows - yet when my pages try
to post to them, they come back as unable to be located.
