Recently, everytime I try to simply download something of the internet (i.e. a program setup), the normal "File Download" window doesn't appear--the one that asks you whether or not you'd like to run it from its current location or save it somewhere. Instead, a QuickTime error window pops up saying "QuickTime is missing software required to perform this operation. Unfortunately, it is not available on the QuickTime server." I don't think downloading off the internet has anything to do with QuickTime. I've tried uninstalling QuickTime, but nothing changed. Please help! Thanks

This should fix it. Click start--run--type regedit and click ok. Doubleclick on each of these:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins

After you doubleclick on the Plugins key you'll see a key named Extension underneath. Right click on the Extension key and delete it. Then close regedit. Downloads should work now. If not restart the computer and then try it.

Note: I'm referring to the Extension key under Plugins not the Extensions key under Internet Explorer. Don't delete the wrong one cause they aren't the same.

Wow, thank you very much! It definitely worked. This forum rocks! Thanks again.
