I have an Elitegroup Motherboard P6BAT-A+ Rev. 2.0
I want to add a bigger graphics card, an nVIDIA GeForce 4 128MB to my machine but when I did add it, It conflicts with the plug and play bios. How can I Configure it to work with my motherboard? Or is there a certain brand of graphics card I should use? I tried using an ATI Radeon 64MB Graphics card and it worked fine with the motherboard but the card did'nt work correctly with my program.
My computer is a 500MHz. Pentium w/192MB of RAM Running windows 98SE
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

That motherboard is quite old (In motherboard years hee hee). I have never used it myself. Around the time of the 500Mhz CPU that might be either P2 or P3. That is when the AGP or graphics port was being used and they changed the requirements after AGP 1 came out. One thing that changed was the voltage for the video card. So some older motherboards do not support newer video cards. You can probably get a Voodoo III video card to work on that computer if you know someone who has a used one, but I cant sware to that.

I hate to say this but it might be time for an upgrade or new computer altogether. 500Mhz is really pushing it when it comes to things like dvd players and newer programs. I recommend at least 1,000Mhz or 1 Ghz for a processor. Most people have around a 2 or 3 Ghz processor and are using Windows XP with 512megs or more of DDR RAM. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy new computers than it is to get old computers to run fast enough.
