my html file picture doesn't appear in view window in dreamweaver?

I have the images in my hard drive in a folder, all optimized and sliced, and I don't know where I'm going wrong. I've tried everything, very frustrating. An air message comes up when I try to set up "new site" in DW and says "there is no image file in your site" when I check, and it IS there, in with my html files. What gives?

Anyone have any answers for me? I need to see so I can edit. I created my site and optimized in Photoshop, and can html edit in Dreamweaver, but can't view my page?

HELP!

Thanks in advance,

Miss swizzy

Do you have iss running? Is everything within a defined site?

how about saving the image in the site root and try that.

That is where I'm confused. I'm not sure what it means to get on the local? In other words what is a default and local root?

Could you perhaps type an example?

This is what I have:

Local Root: Doc & Settings\Owner\My Documents\Unnamedsite
Default: same thing as above?

I think this is where I'm going wrong, but don't quite understand what it means. I look in my folders and everything seems alright, my folders are organized in the manner above?

display the .html page you've setup and right-click the image that it's not showing up and select "properties" to see where the image is pointing to

That's just it, there is no image to right click. All I have is all these slices put together with no image to view. When I right-click all it does is highlight the code in code view.

I know where the source is by looking in explore and looking in my files that I have organized in there, so I know where the source is. The site comes up just fine in Photoshop, but no dice in Dreamweaver. I know it is possible because they came up the other day, I don't know where I went wrong since then however.

I right click the .html in the site window on the left side of Dreamweaver and there is all these options and I'm not sure which to do without becoming more confused.

Where is God when you need him :-( I'm running an ad with a website link, and have no website. Crap!

I'll just keep trying.

what I meant was open your page in the browser and right-click where your images are suppossed to be and view properties, it may give a clue as to where the images are trying to load from

Thank you CDNET! You are the best :^)) I do appreciate your help. I finally figured out where I went wrong as per your sage advice! I had backup files in Kazaa lite, and I wasn't able to view because of that. So I did some organizing, and viola! problem solved.

I look forward to your wise posts in the future.

Many thanks,
