My emails have all gone out of outlook express

I am using outlook express and when opening my mail all my messages have dissapeared. I have checked the outlook folder and they are not there. How can this of happened.

Did you delete them? Are they gone from all folders (including sent items) or just the inbox? While the inbox is selected, make sure that View, Current View is set to 'show all messages'.
