Hello everyone,

I am in the process of replacing my older computers running Win 2000 Pro with computers running Win XP Pro. I had my network set up to use Folder redirection to redirect Desktop and My Docuements to the server. It worked great in Win2k.

The problem is that with these new computers, when a user logs in the Desktop folder appears fine, but all their files in My Documents do not show up for them. I checked, and the files still exist in My Documents on the server, but are not appearing on the computers.

Is there some setting in XP I do not know about? Anyone know why this would not work?

Thanks!
Reagan

You did do this?

Update the user profile path to point to the new profile. To do this, follow these steps:
On a domain controller, start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. Expand the domain, and then expand the organizational unit that contains the user account that you want.
Right-click the user account that you want, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu that appears.
Click the Profile tab, and then type the UNC path to the new profile folder in the Profile path box.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
After the user has successfully logged on, the profile is saved on the server as a roaming profile, and any profile changes are saved to the server.

My own thought is that it is a SID issue. See:
